Ford escape you must have two previously programmed intelligent access keys inside the vehicle and the new unprogrammed intelligent access keys readily accessible. Place the first programmed intelligent access key in the middle of the tray. To program the new keys you should work with the ignition key programming features. Press the push button ignition switch.

You may want to program a new or spare intelligent accesss key yourself. Press the push button ignition switch. Within 10 seconds place a second programmed intelligent access key in the middle of the tray. Within 10 seconds place a second programmed intelligent access key in the backup slot.

If two previously programmed keys are not available you must take your vehicle to your authorized dealer to have the spare key s programmed. You can now go ahead and program two keys and to do so you will use the ignition key programming option. Make sure the ignition switch is off before you insert a new key into it. Programming is now complete.

Verify the remote control functions operate and your vehicle starts with the new intelligent access key. Remove the intelligent access key. You start by setting the ignition switch to off before using a new key in the ignition and setting it to on. Remove the intelligent access key.

If programming was not successful wait 10 seconds and repeat steps 1 through 7. Once the new key is inserted you can then proceed to switch it from off to on. Place the unprogrammed intelligent access key in the backup slot and press the push button ignition switch. Switch the ignition off and remove the first coded key from the ignition. Press the driver and passenger power door unlock control three times. Once you press okay you can now do the same for the second key to complete the process.

It unlocks the door to let you in and allows you to start the engine using the push button start feature if equipped. To complete this process click on okay.
